Ron
Carne is the Australian-bom site manager for EMJ Construction, the firm
that built the Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse on San Angelo's
south side. He says he liked working on the project with Reece Albert,
Inc.
"I'm really impressed, because the company
is extremely professional. You can tell just by looking at their equipment. It's
in good operating condition and it looks good. You know you're getting
a real value from these people, too, because it's being demonstrated
out there on the site."
At the opposite end of town, Jack Hutchison agrees. He is general manager
of golf operations for Antipodes Capital Corporation, the company developing
The Citadel, a 1,000-acre subdivision that will eventually include a
27-hole golf facility.
Hutchison grins as a Reece Albert, Inc.,
truck rolls onto the site. "This is Reece Albert's first venture into
doing earth work for a golf course. They'll also put in a transmission
line to supply water from the Concho River to our lakes, and we'll have
them install a lake liner and remove any rock."
Even though this is the firm's first golf course project, Hutchison
says he had no reservations that the company's site Superintendents
and equipment operators know what they are doing. "I have nothing but
praise and compliments for Reece Albert, Inc."
He says he appreciates the company's attention
to detail. "We had a ditch out here that required some demolition '"
he recalls. "it was challenging for those guys, but they pulled it off
with a lot of professionalism and regard for safety. Randy Rector (Reece
Albert, Inc.'s, vice president of engineering) was real keen on putting
safety first regardless of the cost. I was very pleased with that."
About 150 miles south of San Angelo along
the Mexican border, National Park Service officials also praise the
recent renovation of the Governor's Landing recreation site at the Lake
Amistad Recreation Area, just northwest of Del Rio where Reece Albert,
Inc., has a satellite facility.
The $ 1.1 million contract includes a
mile of roadwork in the picnic and camping areas that were paved to
cut down on dust and generally make the area safer and more convenient
for park visitors.
"This was the first time I had worked
with them, but I enjoyed it very much," says Samuel Montoya of Santa
Fe, project engineer for the Federal Highway Administration. "They did
a very good job. Basically, they're willing to do work according to
specs, but they're forth right about problems, too. With some companies,
it can be a real struggle. The availability of Reece Albert, Inc., equipment
stationed in Del Rio helped them get the job done on time. The many
good things that you hear about Reece Albert, Inc., are true."
